A short route for a quick ride  that I always enjoy:-  Old Milverton Rd. to The Chase. cross Kenilworth Rd., take Stoneleigh Rd. as far as turn to Stoneleigh Park; take private Rd through Stoneleigh Park (it is signed 'no through traffic', but no prob. for bikes!) to Ashow Rd; turn left,  continue to junction with Kenilworth Rd, cross  at Toucan crossing, take Rd signed to Warwick past Chesford Hotel as far as Hill Wootton turn; turn left through Hill Wootton, back to Kenilworth Rd.; turn right, back to The Chase and Old Milverton Rd. (you could cycle on footway at road side if road too busy) About 5-6 milesmilverton map

(Almost) Circular Ride to Harbury including Ufton Fields.

Here is a ride Bob MacQueen led a couple of years ago. It should take a couple of hours. It is a mixture of offroad and on road. The roads are generally quiet though you need to cross the Fosse Way and there is a small section of the A425 to negotiate. The ride to Harbury takes you up to Whitnash and then down Golf Lane to pick up the path directly alongside the railway which takes you to the Fosse. Crossing the Fosse you go directly to Harbury entering on Middle Lane. Continue along Mill St through the middle of Harbury. There are shops here for provisions. Carry on and turn into Hall Lane until you reach the T-junction with the B4452. turn left towards Ufton. After about half a mile turn left into Ufton Fields and follow the road until the roundabout in Ufton. You might like to stop on the way at the Ufton Fields Nature Reserve. Join the Southam Road in the Leamington direction for about 200 yards down Ufton Hill and turn right down the small lane towards the canal. You can then either return to Leamington on the canal towpath connecting to the Sustrans Route 41 or you can continue on the track to the Welsh Road, turn left, cross the Fosse Way and then pick up Route 41 at the top of the hill. I will leave you to find your way to Golf Lane and from Route 41.

Baddesley Clinton and Packwood House by train and bike

One other short one using the train from L.Spa:- Take train to Hatton and cycle on delightful minor lanes to back entrance of Baddesley Clinton(National Trust moated manor house) You can then cycle most of the way to the house on a track, if not wet, and make use of the excellent cafe at the house, visiting the church on the way. Retrace route back to road and continue to Packwood House(Nat. Trust) with lovely grounds. Return back via Hatton station or cycle approx 2 miles to Lapworth station and return to L.Spa from there. About 10-11 miles in total.
